  • Community/Ecumenical Missions
    • Sandhills Coalition for Human Care
      • The Coalition for Human Care strives to assist Moore County residents who have emergency needs by providing food, clothes and financial assistance. Brown grocery bags are located at the doorway behind the Sanctuary to be filled for the Coalition. Items needed are: Spaghetti Sauce, Pasta, Cereal, Tuna, Canned Stew, Macaroni and Cheese, Instant Mashed Potatoes, Canned Juice, Canned Soup, Canned Fruit, Canned Vegetables, 1 lb. bags of rice.
    • Habitat for Humanity of Moore County
    • Sandhills Young Life
    • Family Promise of Moore County
    • Bethesda Half-way House
    • The Barnabas Project (Barnabas means "son of encouragement")
Volunteers needed! If you have one to two hours a week to encourage a young person, this is the place for you!
      • What is it? The Barnabas project is an after school ministry to thrid & fourth graders from Southern Pines Elementary School
      • Purpose: To provide the students with experiences to grow in mind, body, and spirit
      • Who is needed? Volunteers who will serve as role models in a working relationship with the students through activities which will enable the students to develop confidence and hope in becoming successful. You may have as little as a half-hour to three hours to volunteer on Wednesday afternoons.
      • Qualifications: Loving Christians desiring to be witnesses for Christ as a role model through skills and talents such as, but not limited to, reading, math, interactive games, music, science, health enrichment, social skills, etiquette, art, etc. Volunteers are also needed to walk the students across the street from the school and we also need help with snacks for the children.
      • Project Coordinators: Sandy Gary & Bobbie Shira. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Sandy.

    • The Bereavement Ministry - “A Journey Together”
The volunteers who participate minister to members of our own church – those who are mourning the death of an immediate family member. Anyone who has mourned a family member and has been comforted by friends and church family may wish to journey with someone else who is grieving. Training/information sessions will be announced for both new and seasoned volunteers, and there will be a support group for those who wish to participate. If you can make phone calls, visits, or write notes of condolence, this may be your niche for service! If interested, call Lorena Arnold at 692-3275 or the Church Office at 692-8750.
    • The Intercessory Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Room is open during office hours and on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. There are available spots on the weekly schedule for volunteers to participate in this ministry. If you are interested, please contact Bee Holder.

A message from Bryan:
"You may be asking what is being a member of a Youth Group all about: It is where we grow in our relationship with Christ and in our friendships with each other. Youth Group is where we become better prepared to face the many choices and temptations that the world offers. It is where we become equipped to share God’s love with those around us at school and at home. It’s something you don’t want to miss!"
